Wacom´s app software group releases creative photo-sharing and messaging app for Android smartphones
Today Wacom announces its second app for the Android platform. Bamboo Loop marries creative photo-sharing with messaging, meaning that photographs taken on a smartphone can be illustrated and personalised with drawings, scribbles, cartoons and words and forwarded to a friend, family member or colleague.
By using Bamboo Loop ‘Wish-you-were-here’ messages or birthday greetings for example, become very personal and simple creative artworks. These ‘digital cards’ can then be returned by the recipient with a comment, a smiley face or a drawing, so a card can ‘loop’ back and forth. It can also be shared on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Google +.
Unlike many apps in which a photo is added separately to a text message, in Bamboo Loop photos take centre stage and can be illustrated and personalised with the built-in editing tools. Sketch, scribble or write on the photo with a finger or a Bamboo Stylus, loop it back to the creator, send it on to someone new or share it with social networks. Everyone can be creative.
Available for free download from Google Play, Bamboo Loop also offers a gallery of photo filters and shapes that can be extended by purchasing additional style packs at the price of £ 0.69. Available style packs include seasonal themes (e.g summer), art paper, candy, pattern, fun, and vintage.
Bamboo Loop was successfully launched for iPhone in May 2013 and can now also be downloaded for Android smartphones. Following Bamboo Paper, Bamboo Loop is the second app by Wacom that gets released for the increasingly popular Android operating system. Bamboo Paper is a highly successful app for note taking and sketching on iPad and selected Android smartphones by Samsung.
