Combining the Best of Analog and Digital Stationery
March 24, 2017(Tokyo, Japan) -- Wacom Co., Ltd., today announced that Samsung has adopted Wacom feel IT technologies® (branded feel™[1]) in its iconic “S Pen” for the company’s new tablet devices, the Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Book (10.6-inch, 12-inch). In addition, the world renowned writing instrument manufacturer STAEDTLER, in partnership with Wacom and Samsung, is introducing its first digital pencil the “STAEDTLER Noris digital for Samsung.”
First introduced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Feb. 26, 2017, the refined S Pen comes bundled with Samsung’s new tablet devices, delivering a number of convenient and productive features including PDF annotation and professional-level drawing. The refined S Pen ensures a natural writing experience thanks to its smaller 0.7mm tip and increased pressure sensitivity of 4096 levels, which allows customers to be more productive, creative and achieve multiple tasks at once, while offering a real pen-like experience.
"We are thrilled to present the STAEDTLER Noris digital for Samsung, which can satisfy long-awaiting fans who cherish the analog days of writing," said Peter Koo, Senior Vice President of Technology Strategy, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. "Thanks to Wacom's feel™ technology, it enabled us to provide a rich, sophisticated, and personal experience with digital stationery. Acclaims from across multiple sectors have greatly exceeded our expectations, and we are hoping this collaboration will help bridge the analog and digital writing experiences."
